The tanks & rooms here

The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what The Giving Tree Collective runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

🥚Float Pods

The classic enclosed capsule with a hinged lid. Deepest sensory deprivation; you lie down and pull the lid to.

From the reviews

Wonderful staff and very clean facility, the important things you want in a spa facility. Did my first float today and the room and tank were spotless and ready for me. Explanations on how the process worked were detailed. Experience was neat.

I absolutely love this place! They have everything you need to meet your wellness goals—yoga, massage, oxygen bar, float tanks, etc. I am hoping to try their salt room soon! The yoga is definitely beginner friendly but as someone who has practiced for years, I still really enjoy it, so it’s good for all levels.

Oh how glad I was that this place was suggested to me. I actually went 2x in one week! First day I did the salt float and a massage. A few days later I went back for a body wrap. And the store? It’s so great. A variety of unique gift ideas and things for yourself.

I am not in the habit of providing Google reviews....however, when a vendor/service is over the top I feel it would be a disservice not to offer a review. I was looking for a facility nearby my home that offered Red Bed therapy and found the Giving Tree Collective. I was NOT disappointed with this find!

Your first float at The Giving Tree Collective

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
