Water & cleaning at Kuya Wellness
Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Kuya Wellness's own information: ozone.

From the reviews
The space is tranquil & amenities are top quality. I rarely have felt crowded in the sauna & no one stays in the cold plunges long enough for you to feel like you’re waiting. They have sensory deprivation tanks that look and feel a bit different from the “pods” you see online.
Very unique space to relax and take care of your body and mind. Kuya has a sauna, cold plunge, float tanks and IV infusions. Staff is very friendly and happy to explain and help anytime. While their membership isn’t cheap, the packages include many benefits and you get a lot of value from the membership.
Fantastic place! The float tank is a life-changer. Lots of cool modalities for those who like growth and recovery. Jordan helped me out and she was fantastic and very knowledgeable. I’ll be back for sure. The lobby is gorgeous.
I went to an event downtown this week and and met Sarah who shared about Kuya wellness and some of their services like the couples sensory deprivation floats and soundbed.
Your first float at Kuya Wellness
Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.
