The room itself is the vessel: no hatch, walk straight in. Great for claustrophobia and easier access.

From the reviews
I just went to Float Boston for the first time since it has been under the new ownership. It is even better than before. I was greeted by a super friendly gal ,Chisty, and she gave me a refresher on how it all works. The place was nice and clean. Ear plugs and other things you may need are provided.
I started coming here not long after Mark started running the ship. Just came from my 3rd float. A real enthusiast turned small business owner, he is. He's put in the work, and every time I come in, he's always ecstatic to share about the new things and upgrades he's put into the place.
Float is amazing! This was my first time in since it reopened, and Kristie gave me a full tour. The cryo is so cool (literally!), especially the anxiety and vagus nerve stimulation, and they even have a vibration plate and massage chair for after the treatments.
Float Boston located in Somerville is a great place to float. They offer other services but I’ve only floated so far. Mark, the owner is very customer focused. He tries to ensure that your visit is exceptional. My appointments have always been on time. The float tank is clean and quiet. The room is well supplied.
Your first float at Float Boston
Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.
