I absolutely LOVE this place!! It has opened up a whole new world to me and brought me much inner peace! I highly recommend giving this a try. I had no idea what to expect with sensory deprivation and float tanks… man was I in for a treat. The place is always well kept, clean and sanitary.
Thank you to Float Atlanta. It is evident that the owner Lois has had experience way before floating became trendy again. She made me feel right at home with all the details I needed to know. The water was perfectly clear and just the right temp.
Absolutely amazing experience! After such a relaxing and meditative hour, I leave there in such a euphoric state that I feel like a big rag doll. Whether you have back and joint issues as I do, or you just need a uniquely rewarding bit of time for yourself, try a float - I can guarantee you will be thankful that you…
Everyone should have at least one float in their lifetime. Very relaxing. You begin your float with a shower. Then it’s in the water for a full hour. With the lights out, you’re in complete darkness or you can put on a small light in the tub. Both are relaxing. The salt in the water is amazing.
Your first float at Float Atlanta - Float Therapy and Massage
Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.
