Water & cleaning at True REST Float Spa • Alexandria
Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From True REST Float Spa • Alexandria's own information: down to a 5-micron filter, UV sterilization, ozone, hydrogen peroxide.

Really relaxing experience. Didn't know what to expect but I had a great time. Staff was friendly and answered some questions. The spa rooms have a private shower and pod. Pod was warm and had lights that can change colors. I went into a deep meditation while floating. Had an area to get ready with a blow dryer.
The staff was super nice. Kadijah was very knowledgeable and patient when she answered all of my questions. It was ok for my first and only float. Nice ambiance. I think they had air purifiers in there. I took a picture. Please note: If you have locs, ensure you thoroughly wash your hair right after the float.
This was an awesome experience. We are looking forward to returning! The facility was clean, it smelled amazing, and the spa host/representative (Ivy) was welcoming and pleasant. The float experience was relaxing, and the oxygen bar was rejuvenating.
Spectacular float and relaxation experience! We’re floaters and TrueRest is the best experience we’ve ever had. Highly recommend!
Your first float at True REST Float Spa • Alexandria
Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.
