The tanks & rooms here
The classic enclosed capsule with a hinged lid. Deepest sensory deprivation; you lie down and pull the lid to.
The room itself is the vessel: no hatch, walk straight in. Great for claustrophobia and easier access.
Water & cleaning at Salt Spa St Augustine
Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Salt Spa St Augustine's own information: filters the full tank 5× between floats, down to a 1-micron filter, UV sterilization, ozone.

From the reviews
Our family had an unforgettable experience at The Salt Spa. This isn’t a pop‑up spot — the owners have deep roots in Poland and bring the rich tradition of historic salt mines into everything they do. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely cares about creating the best experience.
Both my wife and I had a wonderful experience last Friday. We each chose different packages and thoroughly enjoyed them. I especially loved my combination of the salt float, infrared sauna, and 50-minute massage. It left me feeling deeply relaxed, and the massage therapist was outstanding.
We came to St. Augustine specifically for the Salt Spa, and it was worth every moment. The float tank was deeply meditative, the salt cave was the most unique I’ve experienced, and the sauna was perfect. Highly recommend for a full wellness experience.
Your first float at Salt Spa St Augustine
Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.
