The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what Reset Wellness Studio runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

🚪Float Cabins

A walk-in enclosure with full standing height — for taller floaters and anyone who wants privacy without a low lid.

Water & cleaning at Reset Wellness Studio

Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Reset Wellness Studio's own information: down to a 1-micron filter, UV sterilization, ozone.

The float-industry standard is turning the entire volume of water over at least three times between sessions through a 1–10 micron filter, paired with UV and/or hydrogen peroxide or ozone. If a center doesn't publish its process, it's fair to ask.

From the reviews

The Float Factor is a great spa like experience. This last time I used the infrared sauna, it was set up with towels everywhere making it so cozy an inviting. it was clean and comfortable. I have in the past used the float pods, I fall asleep every time.

I had my first one hour float at Float Factor yesterday -- and LOVED it! VERY clean and VERY relaxing place. VERY nice people giving great advice. It's a unique experience, so during the float I was busy thinking about what I was and wasn't feeling at the moment.

Reset Wellness is a great spot to recover and reset your body. The space is warm and welcoming and staff are friendly. Choose from a float, contrast therapy, sauna or red light therapy. They offer hydration and water during your session and have a small room to relax in at the end with tea. Need to shower, no problem.

Your first float at Reset Wellness Studio

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
