The tanks & rooms here
No lid to close over you — the answer for anyone who feels boxed in. Open pools, open rooms, or pods whose door stays open.
The classic enclosed capsule with a hinged lid. Deepest sensory deprivation; you lie down and pull the lid to.
Water & cleaning at Mamabear Massage & Float
Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Mamabear Massage & Float's own information: UV sterilization, ozone, hydrogen peroxide.

I had an awesome experience. I did a massage and float. Rebecca was super friendly, made me feel relaxed. Atmosphere was so calming. Lady at front desk was so kind. Will for sure be back
As an avid floater for the last several years, I have been coming to this Chesterton location a bit since it was under Float Sixty ownership (and I was def a happy customer).
I love this place! I got my first ever professional massage and had my first ever float tank experience and I cannot wait until I get to go back!!! I bought their Mother's Day package and it was everything I hoped it would be. Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the processes were very well explained.
Chesterton's Hidden Gem! This was my first experience with a float tank and it was AMAZING. Clean and private facilities and the staff was super friendly. I was not rushed or hurried at all! I also used the infrared sauna which was surprisingly comfortable! Next time I'm getting a massage too!
Your first float at Mamabear Massage & Float
Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.
