The tanks & rooms here

The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what Inner Bliss Soul Spa runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

🌊Open float (no lid)

No lid to close over you — the answer for anyone who feels boxed in. Open pools, open rooms, or pods whose door stays open.

🥚Float Pods

The classic enclosed capsule with a hinged lid. Deepest sensory deprivation; you lie down and pull the lid to.

🛁Float Rooms

The room itself is the vessel: no hatch, walk straight in. Great for claustrophobia and easier access.

From the reviews

Purely amazing! My partner and I got the Zen package with Arjun. The float tank was fantastic, but that’s nothing compared to the massage. The massage ranked an 11 out of 10. I am a certified massage therapist and Arjun’s literally was in the top 5 massage experiences of my life.

We visited Duluth for a couples get away and booked the zen package. A couples massage followed by a one hour float. Very relaxing and rejuvenating. Our massage therapists, Ashley and AnnaMaria were very both very attentive and the owner, Arjan was very grateful and attentive to our needs and appreciative of our…

Wonderful people, wonderful time. The atmosphere was very calming, everything was clean, you got complimentary tea afterwards, in a little “living room” type place. I am the most stressed out person, and I finally relaxed. The float pool was so interesting. If I was rich, I’d be there every week!

Best massage of my life! Feeling 10/10. Just did my first ever salt float, it was magical. Absolutely will be returning for more massages, salt floats, and hot yoga. Also did the couples package, that was extremely relaxing and fun. Will be recommending to everyone I know.

Your first float at Inner Bliss Soul Spa

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
