The tanks & rooms here

The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what Halcyon Floats runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

🚪Float Cabins

A walk-in enclosure with full standing height — for taller floaters and anyone who wants privacy without a low lid.

🛁Float Rooms

The room itself is the vessel: no hatch, walk straight in. Great for claustrophobia and easier access.

From the reviews

Had my first salt water float experience here two days ago. Very pleasant experience. The location, rooms and chamber were very clean. Place seemed a little short staffed so no one greeted me for a few minutes but r once they did it was a very quick and easy process.

My partner and I visited Halcyon Floats and were greeted by a staff member named Sara, who was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly kind, informative, and made me feel completely at ease as she explained the history of floating, the benefits, and all the safety precautions—especially helpful since it was my first…

I had an amazing experience. I've done two floats so far and both have been extremely rewarding. The team at Halcyon does a great job of making you feel comfortable so you can get the most out of the experience. I highly recommend floating as a way to clear your mind and take a mental reset.

This was my first time float, from start to finish everything was explained to me, the entire experience was utterly relaxing and the actual float was a unique and very serene experience-I am definitely headed back! I felt renewed afterwards!

Your first float at Halcyon Floats

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
