Time flies when you’re floating. I was able to play my music and was grateful they could accommodate me being a little late. I’m pregnant and can say this was my most favorite float yet. I as truly feeling connected and relaxed. The tea in the lounge is also very tasty. Highly recommend a visit for thorough relaxation.
This place is a quiet restorative haven in a noisy overwhelming world. I drive an hour in and back from my rural abode to enjoy the magical mineral waters and sensory deprivation. They truly are masters of their craft. Darkness, quiet, weightlessness. Yum. Try it. I find that the sessions build on themselves.
I highly suggest the 3 intro level pack if you are trying floating for the first time! My very first float was a struggle and I kept thinking : how do people enjoy this?? Then by the 2nd float I started to feel the calmness and was able to relax in the water more. I noticed my mood improved afterwards.
This place is amazing!!! The staff are some of the nicest and friendly people. I don't do a lot of things for myself but after my first float I bought a membership. The way I feel for the rest of the day after my float is almost indescribable, relaxed and peaceful are the closest I can come.
Your first float at Float On
Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.
