The tanks & rooms here

The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what Divine Med Spa - Relax, Restore, Recharge runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

🌊Open float (no lid)

No lid to close over you — the answer for anyone who feels boxed in. Open pools, open rooms, or pods whose door stays open.

Water & cleaning at Divine Med Spa - Relax, Restore, Recharge

Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Divine Med Spa - Relax, Restore, Recharge's own information: ozone.

The float-industry standard is turning the entire volume of water over at least three times between sessions through a 1–10 micron filter, paired with UV and/or hydrogen peroxide or ozone. If a center doesn't publish its process, it's fair to ask.

From the reviews

Today, I floated for 1 hour and had 20 minutes of Halo/Salt therapy. Previously, I did a 30 minute float. Both times, the facility was immaculate, welcoming and offered plenty of privacy in which to relax. The staff was outstanding as well as friendly.

Very much enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be back. It was so relaxing, I did the sauna followed by 30 min float. I would say only thing that I would suggest is providing more detail on the site about what the float entails in detail.

I could not have texted my friends faster when I finished here— I had never done a float before and was gifted one for my birthday, this was SUCH a nice experience! I am already booking my next!

This was my first experience at a float spa and it was amazing! The orientation video at the beginning really helped and made it super easy to know what to do every step of the way. It was a bit strange at first but the experience was very relaxing and relieved some muscle pains I didn’t realize could be relieved!

Your first float at Divine Med Spa - Relax, Restore, Recharge

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
