Water & cleaning at Victory Float Lounge - Lawrenceville

Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Victory Float Lounge - Lawrenceville's own information: filters the full tank 3× between floats, down to a 1-micron filter, ozone, hydrogen peroxide.

The float-industry standard is turning the entire volume of water over at least three times between sessions through a 1–10 micron filter, paired with UV and/or hydrogen peroxide or ozone. If a center doesn't publish its process, it's fair to ask.

From the reviews

I had my second float today and it was once again amazing. This is a fantastic facility. Clean, well stocked with everything you need for a float, quiet, relaxing, etc. I love that the float lounges are tall and that you can choose audio, lights, stars, a combo or none at all.

Best float experience ever! The facility is beautiful and clean. The staff is super knowledgeable and will be able to answer any questions upon arrival. The pre- and post-float rain shower is the perfect temperature and I loved the shower products they had. As for the float itself, the tanks are truly enormous.

I had my first float experience at this location last night. Going into it, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The girl working the front counter explained the entire process, from the initial shower to the pod functions to cleaning up afterward.

★★★★★ — Nathan, Apr 2022

A very nice, chic layout with three rooms for floats and another contrast room for a sauna/cold plunge combo. Intro offer of 3 floats for $99 which is well worth it.

Your first float at Victory Float Lounge - Lawrenceville

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
