The room itself is the vessel: no hatch, walk straight in. Great for claustrophobia and easier access.
Water & cleaning at The Float Place Patchogue
Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From The Float Place Patchogue's own information: UV sterilization.

Float place.. how I didn’t start years ago? I don’t know. But all I know is I can’t stop thinking about it now. Ever since my first float, my body has never felt so relaxed. I have issues laying down and getting comfortable, and I was very nervous about finding comfortability in there but I found that & more.
Hands down such a great experience! My husband and I did the sauna, float room, cold plunge and oxygen bar. Mia was amazing and was our cheerleader to get us to do the proper way to do a cold plunge. This place has great amenities and staff! If we were local, we would come here way way more often!
Great place, unique experience, Lisa was very helpful and made us feel very comfortable. Sauna session and......floating. Unique emotions and experiences in a comfortable, beautiful and subtle environment. We will definitely be back. We love the wall clock in the break room. Best Regards Jhon
Wonderful place to relax. Amazing staff, friendly and kind people! Extremely clean and organized. Sensory deprivation tanks and well taken care of and a great place to relax and reset your mind and body. I started going a year ago and can't believe how much it has helped transform my life.
Your first float at The Float Place Patchogue
Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.
