The tanks & rooms here

The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what Saltwater Wellness Float Spa | Massage & Wellness runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

🌊Open float (no lid)

No lid to close over you — the answer for anyone who feels boxed in. Open pools, open rooms, or pods whose door stays open.

Water & cleaning at Saltwater Wellness Float Spa | Massage & Wellness

Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Saltwater Wellness Float Spa | Massage & Wellness's own information: filters the full tank 3× between floats, UV sterilization, hydrogen peroxide.

The float-industry standard is turning the entire volume of water over at least three times between sessions through a 1–10 micron filter, paired with UV and/or hydrogen peroxide or ozone. If a center doesn't publish its process, it's fair to ask.

From the reviews

Great experience! Clean and private float room. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. My float session worked wonders. Not only did my skin and hair feel soft for several days after, my joints and low back were loose and pain free as well. It was such a relaxing experience for my body and mind. Can’t wait to go back!

The receptionist made everything clear to me prior to my session, as it was my first time to try out a float pod. I highly recommend incorporating the float into your health regimen. No distractions whatsoever can help you to relax like you may never have!

I really liked the float spa, and I could listen to music. It's a very private room with your own shower before and after soaking. The only negative is that I felt an hour was a bit too long.

So welcoming and kind! Very informative staff! Calming. It was a fabulous experience! I went into the pod for my very first float. I cannot wait to come back! I only got a picture at the entrance, I was fully immersed in living my experience but all expectations were surpassed. Mac was an incredible host.

Your first float at Saltwater Wellness Float Spa | Massage & Wellness

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
