The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what Salt7even Float Center runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

Water & cleaning at Salt7even Float Center

Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Salt7even Float Center's own information: UV sterilization, ozone.

The float-industry standard is turning the entire volume of water over at least three times between sessions through a 1–10 micron filter, paired with UV and/or hydrogen peroxide or ozone. If a center doesn't publish its process, it's fair to ask.

This place is awesome. The owner is very nice, knowledgeable and accommodating and the facility is great. I would recommend everyone give this a try, even if sensory deprivation seems a little intimidating. It was a super relaxing experience for me and I'll definitely do it again.

Tried my first float session February 21st and it was great. Shaun, the owner, is passionate about what he does. It was a relaxing experience and I plan to come back. His products are great too- love the smell and how soft it left my hair after.

Not going to lie, walked in a bit skeptical (and hung over) but walked out feeling refreshed and rejuvenated! It’s like nothing i’ve ever experienced before! The music combined with the tank was incredibly relaxing and would recommend if you’re looking to relive some stress or just relax

★★★★★ — Robert, Sep 2023

Tried for the first time and it was a very interesting experience. I’ve heard a lot about the holistic benefits of floating and wanted to try it. Initially I was a bit anxious and when the light start to turn off there is definitely a feeling of panic.

Your first float at Salt7even Float Center

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
