Water & cleaning at salt 360 float studio

Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From salt 360 float studio's own information: UV sterilization, ozone.

The float-industry standard is turning the entire volume of water over at least three times between sessions through a 1–10 micron filter, paired with UV and/or hydrogen peroxide or ozone. If a center doesn't publish its process, it's fair to ask.

Many floaters stack their session with contrast therapy the same day. Beyond the float tank, salt 360 float studio also offers:

🌊 My First Salt Water Soak Experience! 🌊 As someone who had never tried a salt water soak before, I was both curious and a little apprehensive. But oh, what a delightful surprise awaited me! From the moment I stepped into the soothing waters, I felt a wave of relaxation wash over me.

Very cool and relaxing experience and the owner is very personable. It was clear that they keep the tanks very clean and I slept well that night (the epsom salt in the water has a lot of magnesium). Highly recommend!

I had great curiosity about this experience, and was gifted a 60 min float. I was worried I wouldn't be able to sit in the dark floating for such a long time. Once in the tank time flew by. The feeling of floating weightless was incredible, and the darkness was optimal to let this experience be appreciated in the body.

Your first float at salt 360 float studio

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
