The tanks & rooms here

The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what Lucidity Float and Wellness Center runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

🛁Float Rooms

The room itself is the vessel: no hatch, walk straight in. Great for claustrophobia and easier access.

From the reviews

I will start by saying I wish I knew about this place sooner! This was my first experience floating and I absolutely loved it! I suffer from sensory overload, so it was so refreshing to unplug from it all and focus on my mind. Robin was amazing and the whole facility was very calming and spotless.

A great atmosphere with services that benefit everyone. The staff is friendly and professional. The facilities are clean. I found the staff very helpful and have been introduced to many great services through this business. I didn't even want to float, but was finally convinced. I'm converted.

My husband & I recently tried Lucidity float tanks for the first time. It was amazing!!! It took a minute to wrap the brain around no sound (other than our breathing and heartbeats) and no light but we both were able to relax and could tell that our sore muscles and brains felt much better.

Everyone needs to experience this! It is like having a 90 minute massage without anyone touching you! It frees your mind body and soul. I feel completely relaxed and at ease after a float. The staff at Lucidity is amazing. They answered all of my questions and were so welcoming and kind.

Your first float at Lucidity Float and Wellness Center

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
