Water & cleaning at Heal U, LLC
Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Heal U, LLC's own information: down to a 1-micron filter, UV sterilization, hydrogen peroxide.

From the reviews
Heal U has THE best sensory deprivation experience in East Tennessee. Period. I’ve been using float therapy for many years as a “brain reset.” It’s hard to convey in words just how powerful of an experience it is, but imagine being able to soothe muscle and joint pain, stress, & anxiety, quiet an active mind, and…
My husband and I did the Valentines special with a 60 minute float and 90 minute massage. It was FABULOUS! The float tank is awesome. The massages were phenomenal! I’ve been to many massage therapist and the two girls who did our massages were VERY good! It was the best massage I’ve had! We will definitely be back!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Heal U. I’ve had nothing less than fabulous experiences here. From the moment you step through the door, you are greeted with warmness from staff. If you are using the float tank, they will guide you through the process, and answer any questions you may have.
I have floated in their float tanks AND I am working with a nutrionist there currently. The nutrionist is wonderful and understands my needs and likes/dislikes, and has been able to help me adjust my food & supplement intake in a way that has led to weight loss!
Your first float at Heal U, LLC
Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.
