The tanks & rooms here

The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what FLOAT SPA KANSAS runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

🛁Float Rooms

The room itself is the vessel: no hatch, walk straight in. Great for claustrophobia and easier access.

From the reviews

Wow, I don't even know where to start, if I could rate more than 5 stars I absolutely would. Blake and his team greeted us warmly when we entered the spa, answered all of our questions and did a great job of explaining our experience and managing our expectations for our first float!

★★★★★ — Laura, Dec 2022

This has been a fantastic investment in my wellness. The spa is always super clean, tanks are dialed in (completely dark, perfect neutral temp) and ambiance is very relaxing. Blake has been great helping me on my float journey and getting comfortable. Highly recommend trying Float Spa KS out!

What a great experience. Ever since I saw the TV show "Fringe," I wanted to try a float tank. My wife and I did a 90 min float. I came out more relaxed than I've ever come out of a massage parlor. It was a great experience and I'll definitely be back. The owner treated us care, concern, and respect.

I have been floating at Blake's establishments for almost 10 years!? When I discovered his new location, I was so thrilled! His knowledge of float therapy is unmatched. As a massage therapist for 17 years, I value sensory reduction as the ultimate self care!

Your first float at FLOAT SPA KANSAS

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
