The tanks & rooms here

The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what Float Doctor Float Lab runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

🚪Float Cabins

A walk-in enclosure with full standing height — for taller floaters and anyone who wants privacy without a low lid.

Water & cleaning at Float Doctor Float Lab

Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Float Doctor Float Lab's own information: hydrogen peroxide.

The float-industry standard is turning the entire volume of water over at least three times between sessions through a 1–10 micron filter, paired with UV and/or hydrogen peroxide or ozone. If a center doesn't publish its process, it's fair to ask.

From the reviews

I recently wasn’t feeling very well physically and mentally felt like I was kind of heavy and not feeling quite myself. I went online and found the float Doctor has this amazing trifecta package. It is an amazing half day package of a infrared sauna,Float and massage. The sauna was amazing.

I tried floating for my first time. I was very skeptical.. so I read more on it and did some research.. so decided to try it. She explained everything very well to me. At first when I got in I was a bit nervous with the darkness in there.. but finally took a few deep breaths and found myself relaxing..

What a wonderful experience here for my first float. This facility is beautiful, clean, warm, and inviting. The owner welcomed me, answered all my questions, and provided detailed information on what to expect for my first time. It was so relaxing, I can't wait to go back again!

This was the first time I have ever done anything like this. The establishment was extremely clean with a very relaxing atmosphere. The float tank itself was awesome; the water was body temperature, and you did not feel cold in any way. Total darkness was a fabulous experience!

Your first float at Float Doctor Float Lab

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
