The tanks & rooms here
No lid to close over you — the answer for anyone who feels boxed in. Open pools, open rooms, or pods whose door stays open.
The room itself is the vessel: no hatch, walk straight in. Great for claustrophobia and easier access.
A room-sized open pool of salt water. Zero enclosure, easiest for two, most spacious of all.
Water & cleaning at Deep Wellness Center - Sensory Deprivation - Sauna/Cold Plunge - Massage - VibroAcoustic - PEMF - Red Light Therapies
Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Deep Wellness Center - Sensory Deprivation - Sauna/Cold Plunge - Massage - VibroAcoustic - PEMF - Red Light Therapies's own information: filters the full tank 3× between floats, UV sterilization.

From the reviews
This was by far the most incredible float experience I've ever had. The water temperature perfectly matched the air temperature and all sound and light was blocked. This allowed for my brain to enter into the deep meditative space much quicker then I have ever been able to in other float centers around the country.
Beautiful clean space. I felt relaxed as soon as I walked in. I'm eight months pregnant and have been having some low back and pelvic pain. After the float it felt so much better! I also felt an overall peaceful feeling. I highly recommend this place. If I lived in Rapid full time I would be a regular here.
I had no idea about floating until a friend suggested I do it 6 months ago. Since that initial trial float, I've gone 6 times. I've found few things allow my brain to relax like a deep float. I always leave far more refreshed, usually with deeper thoughts on life to consider for days to come.
Welcome to a spa for your soul!!! Deep Wellness has 2 float tanks as well as other rooms to take you into your mental nirvana. "Floating" has been around for years, but Deep Wellness has brought it to the Black Hills, and I am grateful for their gift.
Your first float at Deep Wellness Center - Sensory Deprivation - Sauna/Cold Plunge - Massage - VibroAcoustic - PEMF - Red Light Therapies
Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.
