The vessel type is the single biggest thing to get right — especially if enclosed spaces make you uneasy. Here's what Be Spa runs, drawn from their own site and reviews.

No lid to close over you — the answer for anyone who feels boxed in. Open pools, open rooms, or pods whose door stays open.

Water & cleaning at Be Spa

Sanitation is the thing seasoned floaters care about most, and most directories never show it. Between every float, the salt water should be pumped through fine filtration and disinfected — salt alone is not enough. From Be Spa's own information: UV sterilization, hydrogen peroxide.

The float-industry standard is turning the entire volume of water over at least three times between sessions through a 1–10 micron filter, paired with UV and/or hydrogen peroxide or ozone. If a center doesn't publish its process, it's fair to ask.

Absolutely AMAZING! I want to start off by praising the owner - Mike - for being so warm, attentive, and knowledgeable throughout my experience at BeSpa. Having never experienced a ‘Float,’ I was welcomed with a wide array of health benefits, knowledge and was walked-through the entire process very diligently.

I recently went into be spa and did my first ever float therapy. It was such an amazing experience. I fell in love with the atmosphere as soon as I walked in, I felt like I got hit with a wave of instant zen. Amanda was there at the door to greet me and she walked me through the whole process.

We love Be Spa. We've been going there now for 5 months and never had any problems. Mike is amazing, he's extremely knowledgeable and can break down all health benefits to a T in case you were wondering. Super chill dude! We do cryo and float.

Best experience my first time floating and 100% coming back! Mike was very friendly and inviting right off the bat and very informative with what to expect in this experience. Highly recommend for anyone getting into meditation, enlightenment and just overall increasing good vibes. The space is also immaculate too.

Your first float at Be Spa

Never floated before? Almost no one has their first time, and a good center expects it. Here's what to know. What it is: you float effortlessly in about ten inches of skin-temperature water saturated with around 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt — so dense you cannot sink. In the dark and quiet, with no light, sound, or gravity to react to, your nervous system downshifts. Before you come: don't shave or wax for a day beforehand (salt stings fresh cuts — they'll have barrier ointment if you nick yourself), skip caffeine, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and remove contacts. If you colored your hair recently, wait a few days. In the tank: shower first, put earplugs in before you get wet, and keep a fresh-water spray bottle within reach for salt in the eyes. You can leave the light or music on until you settle, then turn them off from inside. Hold your arms out for the first 20–30 seconds to stop bobbing, then let go. It takes a few tries — the first 20 minutes are usually your mind winding down. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to shower and get oriented.

Floating isn't for everyone: skip it with epilepsy, kidney disease, uncontrolled heart conditions, open wounds, a contagious condition, or in the first trimester of pregnancy without your doctor's OK. If in doubt, ask the center and check with a physician — this is general information, not medical advice.
